Will I jinx things if I say that we have broken the back of summer….that fall (it’s after Labor Day) is finally within sight?
I love the fall for many reasons including cool nights and mornings, new migrating birds at the feeder, the start of our education season, the new training for medical service and education volunteers with all of their enthusiasm, all of the grown up babies being released and the onset of the fall funding campaigns and work place giving opportunities.
What! There’s no “green giving” opportunity where you work! How is this possible in this current time of “greenness” everywhere? If you aren’t sure about your choices for work place giving, perhaps it is time for you to inquire to those in charge. It seems like a ‘no brainer’ for everyone to have the ability to select a green option and to participate in giving to your favorite green charities.
If you are reading this blog, my guess is that you have many green charities that interest you or that you support. One easy way to fulfill your need to help the environment is to opt for the Environmental Fund of Arizona (www.efaz.org). Within the coalition there are twenty-nine different non-profit organizations that run the gamut from wildlife interests, habitat protection, recycling, clean and air and water, and educational and conservation organizations.
At this point there are over 200,000 people in Arizona who are fortunate enough to be able to choose a green option for workplace giving…but there are millions more who don’t get to make that choice. Is it just me or does that seem wrong?

Now is the time. It is almost fall and certainly the time of fall campaigns. I hope to hear from you NOW! Let’s increase that 200,000 to 2,000,000…but we need your help to do it!
