Hoots, Howls, and Hollers 12/28/2009

This is the final blog of the year. We not only say farewell to 2009, but also to the whole decade….although it seems like just yesterday when it all started! Well all right!

It is a tradition at this time of year to look back at events, challenges, accomplishments. I have decided to let others do that. I choose to look forward. Don’t think for a moment that I am not grateful for all of your help, involvements, and donations to the cause. Or that I don’t delight in all of the animals we have been able to help, the minds we have been able to enlighten, or the hearts that we’ve made sing.

But for me, for right now, I am looking forward to all we can accomplish in the upcoming year. It just feels like a time to shed limitations like a snake sheds its skin. Like the hoarding of acorns, we’ve busily squirreled away enough good will over the past decade to support this emergence. Here we are kicking out or the pupa—a stunning butterfly in the making. And, wait a minute, that pipping sound you hear is the cracking of the escape hatch from our egg-like dwelling. Take note—we are breaking out!

If you want to be a part of this phenomena, join in. Remember that it takes volunteer time to make us successful. It takes financial support to pay the bills. It takes all of our passions to make that giant leap into our future. I can’t wait to meet each of you there. Don’t let us down. We need YOU in whatever capacity you are willing to participate. Make your decision to help us before the end of the year….start the New Year fresh with your resolutions.

Just join us…just be there!
