Hoots, Howls, and Hollers 10/27/08

If you ever get “down” about the things going on around us, and there are definitely things that can get a person “down”, you don’t have to look too far to find an up lifting story.  An example of this follows.

About 10 days ago I got an e mail from a lady saying that the school she represented had a party, the Wild Creature Masquerade Dance, and they were going to donate the proceeds to a charity.

This is cool on many levels.  First of all we are talking about a group of 4th and 5th graders.  The school is Aztec in the Scottsdale Unified School District, and they sound like a wonderful group of people, students, teachers, and parents….all concerned, all giving, all involved in community….and from the viewpoint of not only a non profit organization but also the country, these are the kind of people that we need to grow. On another level it is cool that they are focused on “wild animals” to theme their party, and I don’t blame them.  How much fun to dress up and be your favorite wild animal!  The next really wonderful thing is that the Disc Jockey declined the full fee and cut his fee drastically so that the proceeds could go to the charity.  In hard times that was probably a big sacrifice for him.  So, to Garrett Grossi of IAV Productions, we also say a huge thank you.

It is my belief that we should support those that support us and those that do good deeds.  Please throw your support to Aztec Elementary School and IAV Productions.  One good deed (or two) deserves another (or more).

Please get involved in helping community at whatever level calls out to you.  If you have interest in how you can help, just call us at (480-998-5550) or visit our web page (www.libertywildlife.org).

And, thanks to all of you for your wonderful support.

I feel hopeful.
