Hoots, Howls, and Hollers 08/03/2009

I don’t want to sound like a broken record, but guess what? I have yet another way for you to help us achieve our mission. The baby great blue heron in our care will eat his fish, grow big and strong and fly away another day….all from your support of our mission through our upcoming golf tournament.

Now is a time to call all of you golfers to step up to the green with a little green of your own. Liberty Wildlife’s third annual Birdie Fore Birds Golf Tournament is just around the corner—Saturday, September 26th to be exact. Starfire Golf Club will be hosting the event again this year.

This year’s tournament will be western themed so don your best “cowboy” golfing gear, decorate your cart if you want to win a prize, and help us honor Richard Hayslip and Dr. Chris McDaniel as big supporters of our tournaments.

For a mere $125 a person, you can put together a foursome of friends. Your entry fee includes a continental breakfast, an awards luncheon, the possibility of winning a new car with a hole in one, and a terrific Tee bag. In your Tee bag you’ll find a premium golf shirt, a pair of Moszkito sandals, a sleeve of balls, and other surprises.

The format is a four person scramble. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place finishes, most honest, closest to the pin, longest drive, hole-in-one and beat/pay the pro. This year’s pro is Pam Wright who has toured with the LPGA for 15 years winning countless awards.

Now, even if you aren’t a golfer, you can join the fun by attending the awards luncheon for a mere $35 or you could even sponsor a hole just for the “good” of it.

Tee up to help us provide professional care for our native wildlife, to provide a badly needed service to the community, to feel good about having a great time! Get it on your calendar today.

And, contact Melissa, Jan, Carolee, or Nina at 480-998-0230 to reserve your spot. You can also go to www.libertywildlife.net to register and pay at the Liberty Wildlife store.
