Hoots, Howls, and Hollers 11/24/2008

Sunday was a wonderful day for me and the rest of the staff at Liberty Wildlife.  It is the one official day of the year that we set aside to thank our beyond wonderful volunteers for all that they do to make this organization the success that it is.  It might seem early, but we have our holiday party before anyone else does to ensure that there is very little competition for dates….that gets more and more difficult the closer we get to the official season.

It would, of course, be our goal to have all 300+ volunteers assemble from across the state to allow us to tell them in person how much we appreciate all that they do in the year.  But, that isn’t realistic.  So, if you are one of the group that couldn’t make it to the Pera Club on Sunday, know that you were there in spirit and were recognized for your dedication, passion and compassion.

It was a great party because the weather was Chamber of Commerce perfect.  The pot luck, infamous with the Liberty crowd, lived up to all expectations, and the camaraderie was as enriching as always….the Monday group mingled with the Friday group.  The Education Team conversed with the Daily Care group.  The Medical Services volunteers thanked the Rescue and Transport team for all of there dedication.  Everyone seems to recognize the importance of the Hotline and the Orphan Care efforts.  It was just plain fun!

I would like to thank everyone that made it possible.  I would like to publicly thank all of the volunteers.  I would like to thank our Board Chair, Richard Hayslip of SRP for hosting us at the Pera Club.  And, I would like to thank the staff of Liberty Wildlife for being the tie that binds.
